Flathead County sheriff

A Scenic Drive resident called Flathead County sheriff's deputies after three boys on bikes knocked on the door asking for a drink of water and to use the bathroom. The resident thought they were casing houses in the neighborhood.

A dog was shot on Timber Lane Terrace in Lakeside.

A Shady Lane man thought people were pouring sugar in the gas tank of his Dodge truck. Deputies looked for two suspects, but were unable to locate anything suspicious.

Deputies responded to reports of a fight on Patrick Creek Road.

A person reported missing on Desert Mountain after a friend found his unoccupied truck nearby was berry picking. He was fine.

Two neighbors at a motel on East Idaho Street got into an argument.

Abandoned trailers were reported on Old U.S. 93.

Power lines went down on Two Mile Drive, prompting fire departments to respond.

Somebody burglarized a coffee stand on Woodland Drive.

Deputies responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant at a mobile home park on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. The tenant packed up and moved along.

Somebody broke the windshield on a car parked at an Evergreen dealership.

The sun roof on a car parked at a Bigfork school was vandalized.

Deputies received 148 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police were unable to locate a man who claimed he was an exchange student talking to "new" moms in the South Meadows Drive area. He was riding a bike and carrying an overstuffed backpack.

The owner of a truck on Second Street West promised to remove the rotting garbage from the back, which had generated complaints from neighbors.

A construction truck was reported for littering after leaving a bag of trash near the duck pond in Woodland Park.

Officers arrested a 46-year-old man on a warrant for failure to appear in court on South Street and a 21-year-old man wanted for the same offense at Woodland Park pool.

A .22-caliber pistol left with a Sixth Avenue East resident turned out to be stolen.

A Seventh Avenue West man loaned a friend his guitar, and now thinks it is in a pawn shop.

Gunshots followed some yelling on Second Street West, but officers were unable to find anything amiss.

Four teens attempting to steal a Skidoo on Sixth Avenue West North ran off when discovered, but one left a shoe behind.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 40-year-old man on suspicion of disorderly conduct while investigating reports of a suspicious person on Fox Hollow Lane. A second 40-year-old man involved in the incident was ticketed on suspicion of disorderly conduct and released at the hospital.

Two 15-year-olds and a 16-year-old from Canada were ticketed on suspicion of possession of alcohol and criminal mischief after they were discovered shooting paintballs at businesses and passing vehicles on U.S. 93.

Officers received 40 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Columbia Falls police

A man had his bike stolen, but later saw somebody riding it down Nucleus Avenue. The man tacked the thief, who then pulled a knife. Columbia Falls police arrested the 27-year-old knife-wielder on suspicion of theft and assault with a weapon.

Neighbors on Crescent Drive got into a dispute over a fence line.

Officers received 26 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Tuesday and 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Alarms

The Bigfork Fire Department responded to reports of smoke sighted, and smelled, off Foothill Road.

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to reports of an unattended campfire on Whitefish Stage Road.

Three Rivers EMS responded to an Essex residence, where a 21-year-old man felt sick after consuming beer and cake. He was taken to North Valley Hospital.

The South Kalispell Fire Department extinguished a burning vehicle on Willow Glen Drive.

A pump at a building on U.S. 2 in Evergreen began showing smoke. The Evergreen Fire Department extinguished the flames.
