Flathead County sheriff

A man collecting cans at some sports fields off Conrad Drive told Flathead County sheriff's deputies two men tried to pick a fight and then stole his bag of cans.

Residents on U.S. 2 in Evergreen allegedly threatened to beat up their neighbors with an ax, then when that didn't work, they threatened to come back with a gun.

Parking signs were vandalized at a Lakeside boat launch.

Deputies responded to and broke up a disturbance at a bar on Montana 35 in Evergreen.

The arm of a railroad-crossing gate malfunctioned on West Reserve Drive.

A man on Grand Drive in Bigfork asked a woman when the manager's office was going to open and then ran off. The area has been slated for extra patrol.

People were jumping into the Stillwater River from the West Reserve Drive bridge in an unsafe manner.

A man eating at a picnic table outside a hotel on U.S. 2 in Evergreen was told he wasn't welcome there, but refused to leave. He was arrested on suspicion of trespassing.

No one was taken to the hospital after a crash at the bottom of Underpass Hill.

A First Avenue West woman told officers her ex-boyfriend's mother threatened to beat her up.

Officers responded to U.S. 93 near the hospital to look for an apparently confused elderly woman, but were unable to find her.

Officers counseled a 15-year-old Second Street West girl after her parents reported her as an ungovernable youth.

Homeowners on Oberlin Loop called police because their 40-year-old son refused to leave. They were told about what steps they needed to take to start the eviction process.

A man called police to report that someone was chasing his stepson and swearing at him.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police found a car with its doors open at the intersection of Martha Road and 13th Street West, and notified the owner.

Officers arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop on U.S. 2.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct after he kept knocking on a Sixth Street West woman's door.

Officers received 33 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Alarms

The Somers Fire Department and Lakeside Quick Response Unit responded to Flathead Lake near Lakeside Boulevard to treat people who were injured after their Jet Skis collided.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a crash on Third Avenue East North.

The Creston Fire Department responded to reports of a grass fire on Van Sant Road.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to the Courthouse Loop after a car ran off the road and into a tree.

The Blankenship Fire Department responded to the east side of Teakettle Mountain, where a logging skidder had caught on fire. The blaze was extinguished.
