Flathead County sheriff

A 15-year-old Lawrence Lane girl received a call from a young man who identified himself as a boy who died last year and asked her on a date. The girl, who was friends with the deceased boy whose name was appropriated, called Flathead County sheriff's deputies.

A Bigfork area woman told deputies she believes two children returned to her after spending time in foster care were sexually abused.

Deputies were called to mediate a custody dispute between two people on Lore Lake Road.

Solicitors going door-to-door on Jellison Road were reported as suspicious.

A Timber Lane Terrace resident reported another homeowner's large, unsafe bonfire. When deputies arrived, the fire pit was cold and they began to suspect some sort of ongoing dispute between the neighbors.

A man allegedly assaulted a woman with whom he used to have a relationship at a bar on U.S. 2 and Montana 40. Deputies are looking for the suspect.

A woman, who had been drinking, initially refused to leave a residence behind a Coram bar but took off when deputies were called.

A purse was stolen from a residence on Commerce Street in Bigfork. The victim suspects a roommate.

Deputies responded to Ridgewood Drive after receiving complaints that an unwanted visitor refused to leave. The woman was gone when deputies arrived.

A woman allegedly was hitting a man as they drove down Montana 40. The car pulled over, and the man got out.

Deputies received 195 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Kalispell police

Women in "skimpy tops with ragged jeans" reportedly were flashing passers-by on U.S. 93 North. Kalispell police spoke with the suspects, who denied any wrongdoing.

A woman left her backpack with a carnival worker while she went on a ride at the Flathead County Fair. When she got off, both the carny and her backpack were gone.

A woman at Woodland Park refused to return a man's Frisbee after it hit her child. It took the police to get it back.

Windows were busted on a vehicle parked at a restaurant on East Idaho Street.

Officers arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of DUI and reckless driving on U.S. 93 and West Reserve Drive after his erratic driving was reported to police.

About $90 was taken from a carnival worker's apron at the Flathead County Fairgrounds.

A woman told police she was punched in the face by another woman as she left the fair, and that the woman was now following her.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man on suspicion of stealing five jars of poppy seeds from a grocery store on Third Avenue East North.

A row of six mailboxes went missing on Fourth Avenue East.

It sounded to a neighbor as if somebody were dragging something heavy through a Park Hill Road school. Everything appeared OK when officers responded.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police responded to a Wisconsin Avenue resort after a wallet went missing from a car in the parking lot.

Somebody drove away with $50 in gas from a Wisconsin Avenue convenience store.

Officers ticketed a 13-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of possession of tobacco on Baker Avenue. A third boy who ran from officers was brought to the station by his parents and was ticketed on suspicion of obstructing.

Officers received 44 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a crash on West Reserve Drive in which three people suffered minor injuries.

The Coram Fire Department responded to a Dumpster site and extinguished a fire in one of the bins.

The Ferndale Fire Department was paged out to mile marker 1.5 on Montana 206, where a tree had fallen across the road.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a crash at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Sunnyview Lane, but nobody required transport to the hospital.

The department also responded to a small oil spill near the intersection of Main and Idaho streets and to reports of a smoking ashtray outside the station.
