Doris Isaacs, 86

Doris Isaacs, 86, passed away Saturday, Aug. 23, 2008, at her home in Kalispell. Doris was born Nov. 11, 1921, in Warwick, N.D., to Earl and Sena Torbertson Brininger. She was raised in North Dakota, moving with her family to Somers in the early 1940s.

She worked in the shipyards during World War II.

She married Dick lsaacs on Nov. 5, 1946, in Kalispell. Dick passed away in January 2003; they had been married for 57 years.

Doris worked as a housekeeper for the University of Montana in Missoula for years, before working for the Vacationer Motel for several years. Doris became an avid bear collector and had amassed a very large collection of bears over the years. She enjoyed doing all types of crafts and was very good at them.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dick; four sisters; one brother; and a son, Dean.

She is survived by her son, Jack, and his wife, Linda Isaacs, of Polson; daughter, Lonnie, and husband, Harry Woll, of Kalispell; grandchildren, Steve Woll, Kris Woll, Kristie Park, Denise Gordon, Scott Isaacs, Justin lsaacs, Lisa Agnew and Sean Frank; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Doris' life will be at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 29, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ron Pierce officiating. Burial will be at Glacier Memorial Gardens after the services. A reception will be after the services at the home of Lonnie and Harry Woll, 3707 Lower Valley Road, in Kalispell.
