Whitefish pulls away from FHS

WHITEFISH Ñ A big third quarter helped Whitefish pull away from Flathead for a 45-33 nonconference girls basketball victory on Tuesday.

Whitefish, 1-0, outscored Flathead, 0-2, 18-7 in the third quarter for a 35-25 advantage. The Bravettes led 18-17 at the half.

Whitefish's Kate Klundt scored nine of the game-high 26 points in the third period. She had 12 rebounds in the game, 10 on the defensive boards.

Brittany Earnest led Flathead offensively with 11 points. Ariel Johnson had 10.

Flathead hosts Great Falls on Saturday, 4:30 p.m. Whitefish will play in the Northwestern A vs. Southwestern A tournament this weekend in Hamilton.
