An Evergreen resident called the Flathead County Sheriff's Office Friday night to report an attempted burglary. Turns out the banging at the back door was the wind blowing the dog door.

Deputies caught up with a trio of would-be dine-and-dashers who left without paying for meals at an Evergreen restaurant.

Deputies arrested a woman after a family disturbance on Riley Lane.

Children riding their bikes in the middle of an icy intersection Friday night were told to move along. The youths playing chicken with vehicles near West Springcreek Drive and U.S. 2 were given the same advice.

One person went to the hospital after an alleged assault at a boarding school.

A coat and cell phone were reported stolen from a Bigfork bar.

The wind set off a burglary alarm when it blew open a door at a Bigfork business.

Items are missing from a storage unit on U.S. 2 East.

A very cold dog was taken to a veterinarian. On Harmony Road, an animal warden told residents to put their pit bull inside.

A Ridgewood Drive resident reportedly is receiving obscene phone calls.

A Shelter Valley Drive resident reported credit card fraud.

Deputies arrested a girl who allegedly was caught shoplifting at a box store in Evergreen.

Someone scattered mail all over Columbia Falls Stage Road.

A woman reported her identification card and credit cards stolen at an airport.

Deputies received 160 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Kalispell police

Drama extended beyond the movie screen Friday night into a theater lobby, where a boy was yelling at his girlfriend, whom he accused of stealing his belongings and hiding in the ladies' room. The boy left after the manager called Kalispell police, who gave the girlfriend a ride home.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man on a warrant after he was involved in an accident on Fourth Avenue East North.

A CD player and AM/FM radio were ripped out of an unlocked vehicle on Rosewood Drive.

Youths reportedly were hooky-bobbing in a theater parking lot.

The intoxicated people stumbling and crawling to their cars outside a bar were gone when officers arrived.

After a hit-and-run on Sixth Avenue East, a 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, failing to notify the other vehicle's owner of the accident and failing to remain at the scene.

A man reportedly punched a hole through a wall at a bar, prompting a call to the police. When he left, however, the complaint was canceled.

The men fighting in a bar on South Main Street were kicked out through separate exits, but they managed to find each other again in the parking lot. Police arrested one of them on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

An anonymous caller said she saw someone take medication and money from another woman's purse at a casino.

Officers arrested a man on suspicion of shoplifting at a grocery store.

A manager requested an officer present when he fired an employee suspected of internal theft.

A house on 10th Avenue West was paintballed.

A man's former roommate reportedly gave his guitar to his ex-girlfriend's mother, who refused to return the instrument unless the man gave her $100. Officers counseled them both, and the woman agreed to return the guitar.

After a fender-bender at the intersection of 18th Street and Airport Road, one of the drivers involved left, supposedly to go home for his driver's license. Officers caught up with him later and ticketed him in connection with leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report the accident, driving without insurance and driving without a valid driver's license.

An officer informed the snowmobilers riding on Eighth Avenue West that their sleds weren't allowed on city streets.

Officers received 56 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Whitefish police

Throwing snowballs at a patrol car is not a good idea, as one man discovered Friday night. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct by Whitefish police.

A pair of intoxicated men attempting to re-enter one of several bars they'd been kicked out of were arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct.

Officers arrested a 36-year-old Billings woman involved in a hit-and-run on suspicion of drunken driving, driving without insurance and driving with a suspended license.

Officers arrested a 54-year-old Kalispell woman on suspicion of drunken driving.

Officers received 37 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

While investigating a report of suspicious circumstances near the old red bridge, Columbia Falls police ticketed an 18-year-old man on suspicion of possessing drug paraphernalia and a 17-year-old girl on suspicion of drug possession.

Kids were spotted "messing with mailboxes."

Officers received 38 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Alarms

The Whitefish Fire Department was paged out to a fire at a house on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish.

Whitefish firefighters and the Big Mountain Fire Department removed a tree that fell on a vehicle on East Lakeshore Drive. No one was injured.
