Osweiler heads list for Shrine Game
Montana's Gartorade Player of the Year for football - Brock Osweiler of Flathead High School - heads the list of players selected for the 63rd Montana East-West Shrine Game.
Osweiler, a 6-foot-8, 235-pound quarterback, wrapped up a stellar prep career with the Braves last fall by passing for 2,703 yards and rushing for a team high 760 yards.
The Shrine Game will be played July 18. Started in 1947, it's the oldest prep all-star football game in the U.S.
This event has raised more than $1 million for the Shriner's Hospital for Children in Spokane.
Osweiler was one of three Flathead players, and nine overall from Northwest Montana, selected to play for the West squad.
Flathead also had three selections last year.
Joining Osweiler in the classic will be Tyler Thomas, 6-4, 285, defensive tackle, and Travis Andrus, 6-0, 175, wide receiver.
Osweiler completed 189 of 303 passes in 2008. He had 29 TD strikes and threw just nine interceptions.
Osweiler finished with 8,655 career passing yards, second best in state prep history. He had 80 touchdown passes and 40 interceptions.
He finished with 1,110 career rushing yards.
Glacier has its first selection in Taylor Graham, 6-1, 175, cornerback.
