James Wayne Mann, 56

James Wayne Mann, 56, passed away Jan. 26, 2008, at his home in Kalispell.

He was born Sept. 13, 1951, in Malta.

He is survived by his three sons, James Jr., Marty and Thomas Mann; three granddaughters, Marnic, Tavia and Georgia Mann; two brothers, Martin and Bill Mann; a sister, Cora Bloom; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim spent much of his childhood in the Swan Lake area at the Deerlick Resort. He attended Flathead High School, where during his senior year, he was the undefeated state wrestling champion.

He married MaryJo Owens in 1972 and they had two children, Jimmy and Marty. They later divorced and Jim had a third son, Thomas.

Jim was a master log home builder, operating Mann Made Log Homes for many years. Jim loved anything competitive and his siblings often found themselves involved in 'competitions.'

For years Jim enjoyed running with his good friend, Tim Glidden, and the two of them competed in many races. Jim loved any type of sport and excelled at all.

Jim was so loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Horace H. Mann; and his beloved brother, Smuck Mann.

A service for Jim will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday Feb. 4, at the LaSalle Grange with a reception immediately following.
