| February 17, 2008 1:00 AM

Robert "Bob" H. Lindsten, 66, passed away from natural causes in Lakeside on Feb. 5, 2008.

He was born in Oakland, Calif., on July 24, 1941. He attended Catholic schools and then went on to play basketball, baseball. He earned his master's degree from San Jose State University.

Bob then went on to play semi-pro baseball for the Yankees. Bob spent all of his adult life coaching and volunteering for many kids' activities. He worked as a probation officer and then went on to sell life insurance.

Bob retired in 2000 and then fulfilled his ultimate dream: He moved to Montana. Bob loved the people here. He always said that he wished he would have known about this paradise 40 years ago.

Those of us that had the pleasure to know and love him know that he had an enormous presence. Bob never met a stranger; his kindness and sense of humor were only second to his passion for living his life to the fullest.

Bob had a true love for sports. He loved the lake, fishing, golfing, reading and most of all, watching the Flathead Braves play football.

Bob was survived in death by his three children, seven grandchildren, and mother, all of California; his stepson, Tyler Hendrick, and best friend and partner, Cindy Hendrick, both of Lakeside.

A celebration of Bob's life will be held in Lakeside this summer.
