POLSON - Mariah Newell scored 20 points and Rica Fils chipped in with 13 Saturday as Eureka won the District 8-B girls' basketball tournament title with a 47-41 victory over Thompson Falls.
The Lions outscored Thompson Falls 16-10 in the fourth quarter to pull it out.
Thompson Falls and Eureka were deadlocked at 31-all heading into the fourth quarter.
Newell and Fils both scored five points in the final eight minutes of play.
In the third-place game, St. Ignatius defeated Plains 61-47.

The contest was tied at the half, 26-all, and Plains led 45-44 heading into the final quarter.
Marcus Pluid had 18 points to lead Eureka.
Plains went 15-for-17 at the free throw line to Eureka's 1-for-7.
