Renee Alison Stringfellow Mountan, 52

Renee Alison Stringfellow Mountan, 52, a loving daughter, mother and friend, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2007, at her home in Martin City due to complications from an extended illness.

Renee was born Feb. 27, 1955, to Norman and Nikkie Stringfellow in Kalispell. She graduated from Columbia Falls High School in 1973 and attended classes at Flathead Valley Community College until marrying her first husband in 1973.

Renee was re-married in 1982 in Great Falls, and had two children, Michael Mountan in 1983, and Shawn Mountan in 1984.

Renee moved back to the Flathead Valley in 1988 where she devoted herself to the raising of her two young boys. Most of all throughout her life, Renee enjoyed being in the outdoors, hunting, camping, hiking, and gold panning; but her one true passion in life was fishing.

Renee had a great passion for all animals, having a range of pets including turtles, raccoons, horses and her beloved dogs, Sammy, Sydney, Ceria, Sophie, Squirt and Poodle Boy.

Renee was preceded in death by her brother, Ty Scott Stringfellow; and her father, Norman Madison Stringfellow.

Renee is survived by her two sons, Michael Mountan of Kalispell, and Shawn Mountan of Great Falls; mother, Nikkie Stringfellow, of Columbia Falls; two sisters, Tikki Levenson of Delta Junction, Alaska, and Judy Hall of Tallahassee, Fla., three grandchildren Joey, Ty and Lillian Mountan; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her companion, James Stiller.

Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 3, at the Columbia Falls Mortuary in Columbia Falls. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia Falls.
