Harry Lee Campbell, Jr., 83

Harry Lee Campbell Jr., 83, passed away Dec. 27, 2007, at Meadowbrook Place.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 4, at Mount Hope Cemetery in Baker City, Ore. Bishop Ernie Collard of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will officiate.

Mr. Campbell was born Feb. 4, 1924, in Baker County to Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lee Sr., and Pearl Alma (Watt) Campbell.

Harry served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corp. during World War II.

He worked many years for the Great Northern Railroad. Later in life, he enjoyed working on numerous ranches with the love of his life, his wife Mae. They loved traveling between ranches, sometimes traveling more than 500 miles in a weekend.

Mae passed away Aug. 31, 2006, at the couple's home in Kalispell. Soon after, Harry returned to Baker City after living many years away.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mae Guffey Campbell; his children, Norman Livengood and Peggy Dwiggins; two grandchildren, Lynn Livengood and Thelma Livengood Korb; his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Harry is survived by his four grandchildren, Judy Mae Hickey, Bonnie Farrar, Connie Souza and Edward Livengood; 12-great-grandchildren; 11-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Charlotte Hockert; and many nieces and nephews.
