Dispatchers try to help woman, puppy

A very intoxicated woman on Pioneer Road in Evergreen called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies because her puppy was dying. Dispatchers gave the woman the number of an animal hospital and told her call them immediately. When dispatchers called back to find out what was going on, they were informed the woman had not been able to get a hold of a veterinarian and the puppy had died.

A West Reserve Drive resident called deputies after hearing a neighbor yelling. The caller was concerned for the safety of the neighbor's two children.

Someone laid a board covered in nails across a Smith Lake Road woman's driveway. The board managed to get caught up under the woman's truck.

The proprietor of a company that rents portable toilets called deputies seeking advice on what to do after a number of his toilets were blown up by sparkler bombs.

When he got there, he found the snake was blind and had scars from what he said were 200 cats running around the property. There were also birds with their feathers falling out. Animal wardens, who found nine dogs and only 20 cats, declared the whole thing unfounded. The man still bought the snake.

A woman thought a ring stolen from her by an ex-boyfriend may be at a pawn shop on Ninth Street West in Columbia Falls. But she had no evidence, so the shop's owner refused to let her see the jewelry not on display.
