Roger Clarke Crymes, 75

Roger Clarke Crymes, 75, died Dec. 4, 2008, at the Lakeview Care Center in Bigfork, where he received care for the final year of his life.

Roger was born in Edmonds, Wash., on Sept. 7, 1932, the son of John and Queenie May Crymes. He graduated from Edmonds High School and attended Broadmoor College and Eugene Open Bible College, in Eugene, Ore.

Roger retired after a life-long career with Standard Oil/Chevron, having served earlier as a Merchant Marine in Alaska, and worked later at marketing in the Los Angeles area.

Roger enjoyed a life-long singing career in churches and with the Whittier Choraliers, of Whittier, Calif. He recorded his own long play album and also a CD.

His outstanding tenor voice was a blessing to many.

Roger is survived by his wife, Elora, of Bigfork; daughter, Barbara West, of Sequim, Wash.; son, Duane Crymes, and wife, Lori, of Norwalk, Calif.; one sister, Selma Alden, of Edmonds, Wash.; and one brother, Clayton Crymes, of Junction City, Ore.; stepchildren, Scott and Kari Rieke, and Kelly and Kathy Munson; five grandchildren, Jonathon, Amy, Alison, Clayton and Isaiah; and stepgrandchildren, Skyler, Samantha, and Shane Rieke and Kelsey, Kaylee, Gabe and Kaelin Munson.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A private, family service was held in Bigfork on Sunday, Dec. 9. Arrangements are pending in Edmonds for the Crymes family to celebrate his beautiful life.
