David Gogolak, 36

David Gogolak, (lovingly known as Gogo), 36, of Whitefish, formerly of San Francisco, and Darien, Conn., died Jan. 13, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole, their two children, Graylin and Johnny; his parents, Peter and Kathy; and his brother, Tommy, of Darien.

David graduated from The School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University in 1997 and went on to co-found Hobson's Choice (a Victorian punch house in San Francisco) as well as San Francisco-based Asqew Grill Restaurant Company.

David's passion for life was famous and largely exuded through his outdoor pursuits, his love for culinary creations and his love of people.

He is widely regarded by all who knew him as a person larger than life, someone who always had a kind word for everyone he met, for his love and devotion to his family and friends, and a sense of humor that had no boundaries.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Whitefish United Methodist Church located at 1150 Wisconsin Ave., Whitefish.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montana Land Reliance, Flathead Nordic Ski Patrol or The Cottage in Darien (a home for the mentally handicapped), c/o Kelly Associates, 780 Post Road, Darien, CT 06820.
