Crash on U.S. 93 injures three

| January 22, 2008 1:00 AM

Three people were taken to the hospital Monday with non-life-threatening injuries after an accident on U.S. 93 south of Rollins.

An Oldsmobile Cutlass was northbound on U.S. 93 near mile marker 86 at 1:30 p.m. when the driver lost control and came around a bend in the road skidding sideways, according to the Montana Highway Patrol.

A Jeep traveling southbound was able to avoid the Cutlass by swerving into a ditch, but a FedEx pickup truck following the SUV collided with the sedan partially head on.

After the initial impact, the rear end of the Cutlass swung around and collided with the pickup truck a second time.

The drivers of the Jeep and the pickup truck were not hurt. The three occupants of the Cutlass, reportedly a couple and their child, were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. The Somers Fire Department and Lakeside Quick Response Unit also responded.
