William James 'Bill' Hull, 81

William James "Bill" Hull, 81, of Bigfork, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2008, at his home.

He was born in Union, Utah on March 19, 1925, the son of Albert and Ivy (James) Hull.

During World War II, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, seeing action in the Pacific. He received the Purple Heart for combat injury received at Iwo Jima.

He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in horticulture from Utah State University. His work brought him to the Flathead Valley where he designed and led the construction of the original 18 holes of the Eagle Bend Golf Course.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Marion; and a brother, Tom.

He is survived by Nadine, his loving wife of 59 years; their children, Steve and wife Laurie, Gary and wife Stephanie, Lee and wife Kristie, Kathy and husband Quentin, and Diane and fiance Kimo; a brother, Corky; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Bill will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bigfork. There will be no visitation. Military honors will be conducted by the United Veterans of the Flathead.
