Two men accused of burglarizing the Center Street Quick Lube in Kalispell - one of whom allegedly injured a police officer as he attempted to flee - entered guilty pleas to that crime Thursday in Flathead County District Court.

Bobby Ray Wilson, 26, and Joseph Guy Boles, 25, are being held in the Flathead County Detention Center, each in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Pursuant to a plea agreement, prosecutors dropped an assault on a police officer charge against Boles.

Boles was on probation for failing to register as a sexual offender and misdemeanor theft when the burglary occurred, prompting District Court Judge Ted O. Lympus revoked a five year suspended sentence imposed in 2004.

Wilson and Boles were arrested Oct. 17 after neighbors reported hearing loud noises and saw two men apparently trying to enter the garage doors on the east side of the Center Street Quick Lube.

The incident, which occurred at about 1:40 a.m., was reported by two separate people who gave similar accounts of what they witnessed, police said.

Seven Kalispell police officers responded to the scene and called for Wilson and Boles, both of Kalispell, to exit the building.

The pair bolted out the door and attempted to flee, but officers tackled them to prevent their escape. One suspect made it about 20 yards and the other about half a block to an adjacent parking lot before they were apprehended, police said.

A Kalispell police officer was injured in the process of arresting Boles, according to court records. The officer was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center where he was treated for broken ribs and released.

Wilson and Boles each face up to 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. Their sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 27.
