Lois M. Gruber, 75

Lois M. Gruber, 75, of Libby, died July 9, 2008, at St. John's Lutheran Hospital. She was born on April 21, 1933, at Choteau, the daughter of Reynolds F. and Thelma M. Cahoon.

She grew up in Charlo and graduated with honors from Charlo High School.

She moved to Missoula after she was married to Richard Jake Ochsner on March 22, 1953, until his death on March 5, 1977.

Lois started working for Avon in the late 1960s. In 1972, she became an Avon district manager. She was their top manager for many years. She retired from Avon in 1990. She opened My Fair Lady in Libby with her daughter, Lenora, which they operated for 15 years. She opened This and That and operated that for 16 years.

Lois enjoyed selling, auctions and rummage sales.

She married Robert Gruber on Nov. 23, 1979.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Gruber, of Libby; mother, Thelma Cahoon; brothers, Earl Cahoon and wife, Vivian, and Francis Cahoon and wife, Carol; children, Lenora Larson and Richard Ochsner, both of Missoula; stepchildren, Terri Gruber of Spokane, Cathy Anderson of Boise, Idaho, Roger Gruber of Havre, and Jeff Gruber of Libby; and grandchildren, Cory Larson of Alaska, R. J. Ochsner of Kentucky, Sarah Ochsner of Missoula, Erica Larson of Missoula, Sheri Gruber of Missoula, Allan Gruber of Butte, Evan Anderson and Seth Anderson, both of Boise, Kelsey Anderson, Tyson Gruber, Thomas Gruber, Trent Anderson and Emma Gruber.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 14, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Libby. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 13, at the Schnackenberg and Nelson Funeral Home in Libby. Burial will take place in Ronan.
