A whitetail deer fawn lies perfectly still in the grass near the Stlllwater River on Saturday morning. Doe deer often hide their fawns in a safe place while they graze. The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks urges people to leave a fawn alone if they find one. It's natural for does to leave their fawns alone for an extended period of time, according to a recent press release from the department. The agency cautions people not to touch or move a fawn. The wildlife agency also reminds people to keep dogs under control to prevent them from injuring or killing young wildlife.
