A man was found dead Thursday afternoon behind a business on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. A needle reportedly was sticking out of his arm. Flathead County sheriff's deputies are investigating.

A car parked at a bar at the intersection of U.S. 2 and Montana 40 appears to have been kicked several times.

Deputies served a man with a warrant for felony forgery when he showed up at the Justice Center for a court date on an unrelated charge.

Someone who kept knocking on the door of a casino on U.S. 2 in Evergreen after it closed was reported as a suspicious person.

Two people dressed in black were seen messing around with a parked vehicle on Tamarack Lane. They were gone when deputies arrived.

Someone at a Bigfork restaurant reportedly set off a fire or burglary alarm because he thought a person eating there was wanted by police. It turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police were called after a helicopter landed in the Flathead Valley Community College parking lot. Turns out the plan had been cleared with the Federal Aviation Administration.

Officers responded to South Meridian Road where a man, who had been drinking, allegedly threatened a woman with a metal stick. She decided not to press charges.

Gas was siphoned from a truck on Airport Road.

Two youths fighting near a store on Fourth Avenue East North took off before officers arrived.

Two purses were stolen from cars parked at a fitness club on Sunnyview Lane.

Two men who reportedly were spotted smoking at a school playground on Second Street West told police they didn't smoke.

A neighbor called police about a man and woman arguing on an Appleway Drive balcony. When officers arrived, the pair said there had been no argument.

Whitefish police

During a traffic stop on Ramsey Avenue, Whitefish police arrested a 25-year-old woman on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

A 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, and drug possession during a traffic stop in the parking lot of a grocery store on U.S. 93.

Somebody allegedly pulled up to a fellow motorist at the intersection of Lupfer Avenue and Third Street West and attacked with pepper spray.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received reports that a person was being chased by another person on Nucleus Avenue.

Alarms

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a movie theater on U.S. 93 after the oil used to pop popcorn overheated and began to smoke.

The Creston Fire Department responded to Lake Loop Drive and extinguished an unattended slash pile fire that reportedly got into some trees.

The Smith Valley Fire Department and West Valley Fire Department responded to U.S. 93, where a hay shed was on fire. Firefighters extinguished the burning hay and saved the shed.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to Ashar Avenue after smoke was seen coming from an apartment. Something was burning on the stove.
