Deputies recover stolen, broken safe

Flathead County Sheriff's Office

A safe, two feet tall and brown in color, was stolen from Meadow Lake Drive. It was found with the hinges and dial busted open on Woodland Road. Flathead County Sheriff's deputies are investigating.

A landlord and a tenant on Ridgewood Drive got into an argument. It was determined to be a civil affair.

Residents on Prairie View Road and Smith Lake Road complained about dusty gravel roads.

Deputies counseled an employee accused of stealing from his employer, a Somers hardware store.

Reports of a starving, hairless cat on West Cottonwood Drive turned out to be unfounded.

A mountain lion was sighted near Prairie View Road, and a nearby resident called deputies because kids wait for the bus nearby. A mountain lion was later seen chewing on an animal carcass near the same area.

In an unrelated incident, a mountain lion appears to have been struck and killed by a car on Montana 206.

Deputies responded to Parliament Drive to break up a verbal disturbance.

Someone going around looking into vehicles near Wettington Drive was gone when deputies arrived.

A socket wrench set reported stolen from a Shady Lane trailer court was found at a West Idaho Street pawn shop.

Somebody used a payloader to move a large rock from an aluminum company's Columbia Falls property. The payloader was returned, but the rock wasn't.

A rifle was stolen from a Gunsite Loop residence.

A Tamarack Lane resident accused a roommate of stealing his stuff, including prescription medication.

A blue Yamaha motorcycle was reported stolen from a Mountain View Drive residence in Evergreen.

A Montana 35 resident told deputies his landlady threatened to evict him. Deputies told the man that wasn't a criminal act.

Sheriff's deputies received 161 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell Police

Kalispell police responded to Fifth Avenue East and arrested a 32-year-old woman for disorderly conduct and a 16-year-old girl for trespassing after breaking up a heated argument that included the yelling of racial slurs.

Jelly was thrown on the windshield of a car parked on Third Avenue West.

Officers visited a Third Street West home and arrested a 45-year-old man on a warrant for criminal mischief. He is accused of slashing a woman's tires.

Teens parked in a car on Second Avenue East were reported for littering on a resident's lawn.

Officers were unable to find an intoxicated man wandering around an electronics store on U.S. 93 North.

A Kenway Drive resident complained about a neighbor's penchant for slamming doors and making excessive amounts of noise.

Officers were unable to locate a person suspected of shooting a bird with a BB gun on Seventh Street West. A neighbor told police she heard the BB gun fired.

Officers arrested a 46-year-old man in a pickup truck with a camper on the back for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended license, and driving without insurance after a passerby reported his erratic driving.

A 21-year-old man, twice kicked out of a theater on U.S. 93 North, reportedly was back again, banging on the doors and windows. He was gone when officers arrived.

Officers arrested a 21-year-old man on a warrant for traffic citations after he allegedly got loud, intoxicated, and refused to leave a restaurant on U.S. 93 North.

Officers counseled a First Avenue West woman who allegedly punched a man in the face.

About $120 was stolen from a purse at a bar on West Idaho Street.

Motorcycles reportedly stolen from South Main Street were spotted on First Avenue West.

Officers received 84 calls for service between 2 p.m. Monday and 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish Police

Whitefish police arrested a 45-year-old man for driving on a suspended license, without insurance, and with expired vehicle registration during a traffic stop on Spokane Avenue.

Officers arrested a 35-year-old man for driving on a suspended license during a traffic stop near City Beach.

Officers arrested a husband and wife, both 42-years-old, for partner assault after responding to a domestic disturbance on State Park Road.

Officers responded to domestic disturbances on Lupfer and Iowa avenues.

An iPod was stolen from a vehicle on Iowa Avenue.

A trailer hitch was stolen on Waverly Avenue.

Officers received 49 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls Police

Columbia Falls police took into custody a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl, both of whom had been reported as runaways, during a traffic stop on Eighth Street West.

Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy for drug possession at the police station.

Officers received 19 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Marion Fire Department responded to a vehicle rollover on Lost Prairie Road. The driver suffered an arm injury but declined to be taken to the hospital.

The Badrock Fire Department was dispatched to the Berne Park area after a fire was spotted in the hills.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Montana 206, about one mile north of Montana 35, where a vehicle rolled over. The driver, who suffered a head injury, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Blankenship Fire Department responded to the Nyack Flats area after a train car full of woodchips, which caught fire and was extinguished last week, began smoldering again.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to the new City Hall on First Avenue East for a possible gas leak.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a hotel on U.S. 93 South after a woman fell down some stairs. She was unconscious and bleeding. Emergency room doctors later informed officers they suspected some of the woman's injuries may have come from an assault before her fall.
