Lakers upend Butte, Belgrade

BUTTE - The AA Kalispell Lakers picked up road victories in two different cities Saturday to improve to 5-3 on the American Legion baseball season.

Kalispell exploded for six runs in the third inning and five in the fifth to overtake Butte 11-9.

Kalispell started fast at Belgrade, scoring eight times in the first two innings for a 9-5 victory.

In the six-run third inning versus Butte, the Lakers did all of their scoring with two outs. Derek Keller started the rally with a double.

Brian Sneck drove in two runs with a single, while Zach Brosten and Tyler Reichhoff both had RBI singles.

Austin Roehl had two doubles and three RBIs at Belgrade. Reichhoff also drove in three runs.

The Lakers stole eight bases in that contest. Keller had three, Reichhoff and Sneck two each and Mario Venturini one.

The Lakers have a nonconference doubleheader today at Helena, starting at 1 p.m.
