Alice Marie Trevino, 79

Alice Marie Trevino, 79, passed away on Sunday morning, March 16, 2008, at her home in Kalispell, surrounded by her family.

She was born Alice Marie Fuerstenberg on Oct. 22, 1928, to Lawrence and Margaret (Rosekrans) Fuerstenberg, in Belgrade, Minn., on her grandfather Joseph's farm.

She married Rudolph Trevino on June 21, 1947, in Stillwater, Minn. They were married 54 years before his passing on Jan. 20, 2002.

She continued to work until her late 70s, most recently working at the K-Mart store in Kalispell. Prior to that she worked more than 45 years as an accountant in the construction industry. Notable projects she worked on were the Trego Tunnel, the third longest underground tunnel in the world and the Oroville Dam, the world's highest earth-filled dam.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudy; and brother, Francis.

Alice is survived by her five children, three of whom live is Kalispell, Dianne and husband Skip Davis, Mary and husband Mike Olser, and Janette and husband Mike St. Peter; Charlotte Trevino of Spokane; and James and Debbe Trevino of Las Vegas; her brothers, Bobby and wife Gert Fuerstenberg of Minnesota, and Donny and wife Mary of Minnesota; and sisters, Mary Ann Pierce of Minnesota, Loriane Haaf of Wisconsin, and Genevive Mingo of Texas. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was a loving mother, devoted wife, and hero to her children. She will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be held in her honor at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 25, at the Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with urn burial at Fairview Cemetery, and a reception at the Birch Grove Community Center.
