Ronald A. 'Red' Watters Sr., 54

Ronald A. "Red" Watters Sr., 54, passed away May 1, 2008, after a long illness at the VA Hospital in Fresno, Calif. Ronald was born Dec. 18, 1953, in Helena. He lived with his parents, Charles and Grace Watters, for his first one and a half years in Kalispell, before the family moved to Fresno, where he attended grade school, graduated high school, and then attended college at Fresno State.

After college he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served two years.

Ron had many loves and passions throughout his life, among them fishing, camping, Garfield, traveling and the ocean.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, Charles Watters.

He leaves behind his mother, Grace Watters, of Kalispell; three daughters, Anna Gonzales of Columbia Falls, Rhiannon Winders of Helena, and Barbra Thompson of Bigfork; his son, Ronald Watters Jr., of Norco, Calif.; grandchildren, Rene Trevino Jr., Mercedes Trevino, Chris Trevino and Micah Aranjo, all of Columbia Falls, Tiana Winders, Clifford Winders Jr., and Sean Winders, of Helena, and Aundreanna Georgieff and Parker Thompson, of Bigfork; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Ron lived his life the way he wanted and on his own terms. He was a sweet, loving "Papa" whom we will miss so very much.
