WHITEFISH - Matt Schad was 2-for-3 with three RBIs in a losing effort for the Libby Loggers American Legion baseball team Sunday afternoon.

The Loggers fell 10-9 to the Cranbrook Bandits in the Invitational Wood Bat Tournament in Whitefish.

"It was a back and forth game. We got down early," said Libby coach Kelly Morford.

Cranbrook led 6-2 after three inning, but the Loggers battled back in the fourth with four runs.

They tacked on three more runs in the fifth and enjoyed a 9-7 lead, only to give up three runs on two errors in the bottom of the sixth.

"We let another one slip away," Morford said. "It's kind of disappointing to battle back and have that happen.

The Loggers play at noon today for third/fourth place in the tournament.
