Election Day one day away

Polls across Flathead County open at 7 a.m. Tuesday for the 2008 general election. Polls close at 8 p.m.

Voters will face a long list of decisions, headlined by the choice for U.S. president.

State offices from governor to auditor, as well as U.S. House and U.S. Senate, also are on the ballot.

In addition, a host of local legislative races will be decided.

Flathead County voters are being asked to approve bond issues for open-space preservation and to build a new emergency dispatch center.

Kalispell voters are being asked to support a parks maintenance district and tax.

Absentee voting at the Flathead County Election Department in Kalispell closes at noon today. Any ballots mailed to voters must be returned by 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Election Department is located in the old courthouse building at 800 S. Main in Kalispell.
