Linda Anne Allen, 68

Linda Anne Allen, 68, passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008, at Brendan House in Kalispell. She was born on July 18, 1940, in Osning, N.Y., to William Joseph and Helen Isabel (Hull) Groff.

Linda received her early education in Osning before moving with her family to West Yarmouth, Mass., where she graduated from high school.

She married Jon Allen on May 21, 1960, in Moline, Ill., and the couple moved to Hyannis, Mass. In 1973, the family moved to Kalispell. Linda and Jon divorced in 1983.

Linda worked at the Red Lion in housekeeping and as the night audit manager. She worked various jobs around the valley and loved her time as a teacher's aide and foster grandparent at Russell Elementary School.

Linda enjoyed reading, crocheting, visiting the Bison Range and traveling.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Heather Lewis, in 2005.

She is survived by five children, Diane Wilson and husband, Stephen, of Sweet Home, Ore., Donna Sweet and husband, Joe, of Boulder City, Nev., Debbie Maze of Kalispell, Dean Allen and wife, Christie, of Smith's Grove, Ky., and Darlene Allen of Kalispell; one brother, William Groff and wife, Susan, of Peterborough, N.H.; one sister, Galla Howes, of Marston's Mills, Mass.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the home of Debbie Maze, 96 Hawthorne W., in Kalispell.
