Joyce E. Bergstrom

Joyce E. Bergstrom passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at the Colonial Manor in Whitefish, after a courageous battle with cancer. Joyce was born to Chester L. and Grace L. Johnson on July 9, 1928, in Kalispell. She grew up and attended schools in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School with the class of 1946.

The day following graduation, June 7, 1946, she married Raymond A. Bergstrom. They moved to Whitefish in 1952 and have resided there since.

She was preceded in death by her parents; only brother, Lawrence; and one grandson, Mark Robison.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Ray; daughters Linda and Ron Olson of Whitefish, and Nancy and Ron Robison of Columbia Falls; and son, Bruce, of Nampa, Idaho. Other survivors include grandchildren, Todd and Meg Olson, Tim and Lisa Olson, and Heidi and Mike Freeman, all of Whitefish, Mason and Lynn Robison of Eureka, and Michael and Keni Robison of Columbia Falls; as well as nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind devoted friends, Shirlee Yeats, Shy McClarty, Dorothy Graham and JoAnna Bitney, who have been her "sisters" throughout her lifetime.

Memorial services are planned for 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at Easthaven Baptist Church, at 2010 Whitefish Stage Road.
