Leroy Dayl Dalager, 72, of Kalispell, passed away peacefully at his home Nov. 6, 2008. He was born June 22, 1936.

As a young man, he served in the Marine Corps and fought in the Korean War.

Leroy's passion was the outdoors. That is where he made his living as a logger. He was known as "Leroy Dalager, the Logger."

He enjoyed taking his horses on pack trips for pleasure or to pack out the game that he may have gotten that hunting season that was just a little too big to pack out on foot. He would also do pack trips to go camping and fishing.

If you didn't find him in the woods or at the house working on his trailers, he would be at the local restaurant, teasing his favorite waitresses. He always had a joke to tell and a smile to give. He is going to be desperately missed by the ones who loved him.

Leroy truly adored his grandchildren, Mikayla Wisher, and Jacob, Cole and Samantha Dalager. They were the gleam in his eyes. He would spend hours teaching his grandchildren how to cut wood and how to run the logging equipment.

He is survived by two siblings, Wilbur and Phyllis; and his four children, Chelle Dalager of Fallon, Nev., Mike and wife, Tami Dalager, of Kalispell, Steve Dalager of Texas, and Daniel Dalager of Cusick, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Leola Ritter; and father, Phil Dalager.

A memorial service will be in the spring during the auction of his estate.
