Flathead County Sheriff's deputies assisted the Montana Highway Patrol on a traffic stop at the intersection of South Meridian Road and Fourth Street, only to discover one of the vehicle's occupants claimed to be the victim of an assault at a party on Two Mile Drive. The injured occupant was taken to the hospital but decided not to press charges.

Deputies were called to Three Mile Drive after a passerby noticed an unoccupied house with a light on. Deputies were unable to find anything amiss.

Deputies are investigating reports that a vehicle was stolen from an Airport Road residence.

A flooring business on Montana 40 and a vacuum business on U.S. 2 in Evergreen were broken into.

A dummy wearing a Halloween mask and hanging from a pole on Willow Glen Drive was reported as suspicious. It wasn't there the day before, apparently.

A Kila man reported receiving threatening phone calls from another man.

A trailer was reported stolen from a Conrad Drive business.

Someone allegedly tried to break in to an East Evergreen Drive residence, damaging some property.

Deputies responded to Gordon Avenue after a resident reported a possible prowler.

Deputies responded to disturbances on Stoner Creek Road in Lakeside and on U.S. 93 south of Whitefish.

Deputies shut down a controlled burn on Trillium Way after deeming it unsafe.

Mail was reported stolen on Park Avenue in Evergreen.

Someone at a convenience store on U.S. 2 in Evergreen got bear spray in their eyes.

Deputies received 145 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

Kalispell police responded to an Airport Road residence after the person watching the house while its owners were away noticed buckets propped underneath one of the windows. Transients apparently were squatting in the mud room.

Items were stolen from vehicles on Fourth Avenue West and 10th Avenue West. A car was rifled through on Fifth Avenue West.

Money was reported stolen from a Liberty Street residence. No word on how much was taken.

Teenage boys smoking cigarettes in front of a Vanderbilt Drive man's house got mouthy when he asked them to leave.

Officers arrested a 48-year-old man for partner assault while investigating reports of a disturbance on Sherry Lane.

Officers responded to Lambert Court after receiving reports that the occupant's ex-husband was "trashing" it. Officers then spent more than an hour looking for the culprit, who reportedly was armed and threatening violence.

Officers arrested a 25-year-old man and a 43-year-old man for disorderly conduct after responding to a disturbance on 10th Avenue West.

A 10th Avenue West resident complained about a neighbor's loud music. So the neighbor allegedly turned the TV on really loud before leaving and told the resident that she "hopes she likes it."

A 10th Avenue West woman who got into an altercation with her neighbor awoke the next morning to find her cable cut.

Seven men reportedly were walking down First Avenue West yelling profanities.

Officers arrested a student at a Third Avenue East North school for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers received 71 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 19-year-old man for possession of alcohol during a traffic stop on U.S. 93.

A boy went missing at a downtown store. He was found, hiding, minutes later.

Officers received 36 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 20-year-old man for probation violation during a traffic stop on U.S. 2.

A 20-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was found yelling obscenities in the parking lot of a grocery store on U.S. 2. He resisted arrest and had drug paraphernalia on him.

Officers received 20 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Whitefish Fire Department was paged out to Second Street East after a resident reported smelling smoke in the area.

The Whitefish Fire Department also was dispatched to a burning slash pile near mile marker 129 on U.S. 93.

The Somers Fire Department responded to a Dumpster fire in Lakeside.
