An Evergreen-area man wanted for the forcible rape of a then-16-year-old girl was arrested Monday morning near Flathead Valley Community College.

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies initially tried to serve the warrant at the man's Birch Grove Road residence, but he was not there.

Gaylon Mark Owens, 20, is charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, a felony. He was being held Monday afternoon in the Flathead County Detention Center in lieu of $50,000 bail.

According to court documents, Owens invited his alleged victim - whom he reportedly had known for five or six months - to his home in February 2008.

Prosecutors allege that after telling the girl he had something to show her in his room, Owens pushed her onto his bed, removed her clothing and then forcibly raped her.

Owens allegedly threatened the girl, telling her, "You will [expletive deleted] like it or else something bad is gonna happen," and, "In my house we do what I want."

After repeated attacks, during which the girl said "no" at least once, Owens drove the girl home, according to court documents.

If convicted, Owens faces up to 100 years in prison and a $50,000 fine. He has yet to be arraigned.
