Kalispell police

Thieves were out in full force in Kalispell this weekend in several neighborhoods.

On Second Avenue East North, a Winchester gun valued at $500 and a box of 12-gauge shotgun shells were stolen from an unlocked vehicle, Kalispell police said. On the same street, two blocks down, a window was broken out of a vehicle, but nothing was reported stolen.

On Sixth Avenue East North, stereo equipment worth $400, $40 in cash and $400 worth of CDs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Thieves also hit an unlocked vehicle on Second Avenue East, where $160 worth of CDs were stolen, and damage to the vehicles radio was estimated at $200.

The thievery continued on 10th Avenue West, where a plastic foot locker, trailer hitch and ball and four tire chains were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

A woman who left her purse unattended under a table at a downtown Kalispell bar noticed that the purse was missing at the end of the night.

There was an attempted burglary on Seventh Avenue West, where a resident chased three youths out of his garage. They were attempting to get into his car.

A couple of pickpocket incidences were reported. At a Kalispell mall, a woman said someone bumped into her while she was shopping, and when she returned to her car, her wallet was missing, including $300, her drivers license, credit card and checkbook.

At a box store on Kalispells north side, a woman said a man bumped into her in the parking lot and helped her pick up her belongings. But when she got to her vehicle, her debit card was missing. The man was described as possibly Hispanic, with short, spiky hair, about 5 feet, 7 inches, in his late teens to early 20s, wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt. He was with another man who appeared to be Native American, about the same age.

A Labrador-cross dog running loose broke through the ice at a Woodland Park pond, but was able to get out on his own. He ran away.

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after an early morning two-vehicle accident near Peterson School.

Vandals went on the rampage on Conrad Drive, spray-painting graffiti and profanity on residences and businesses.

Flathead County sheriff

It must have been a holiday grinch who stole a big inflatable turkey on Meadowlark Drive. Also in the grinch department, someone tipped over a portable toilet at a construction site on Grayling Road in Lakeside, according to Flathead County sheriffs deputies.

Two men beat up another man standing in his yard on Harmony Road and stole his wallet.

Two Bigfork businesses were vandalized. A car wash had its water meter smashed, and a money-changer was busted. A broken baseball bat was found at the scene. Next door, a window at a beauty salon was broken.

A store on Swan River Road was spray-painted with graffiti.

A lost hunter northwest of Whitefish was found 45 minutes after fellow hunters reported him missing.

A home on Racquet Court in Whitefish was burglarized; taken were a computer, a Wii game, clothing and DVDs.

On Westview Drive, the back and front windows of two vehicles were smashed. More vehicle smashing was done at an Evergreen bar, where vandals damaged the hood and roof of a vehicle and doused it with alcohol.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 19-year-old woman at Second Street and Baker Avenue on suspicion of underage drinking.

At the Whitefish City Airport, the side window of a truck was broken out.

Officers received 30 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 34 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Friday and 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
