LIBBY - Middle hitter Jackie Mee had 18 kills and 14 digs as the Libby Lady Loggers downed visiting Polson 25-23, 24-26, 25-15, 25-22 in a Northwestern A volleyball match on Saturday.

Devon Hoyer added seven kills, 15 digs and Evi Cernick had 17 assists and three service aces for the Loggers (4-1).

Polson (2-3) was led by Nicole Davey with 20 kills and three aces and Breanne Kelley with 13 kills, 17 digs and two blocks.

"They're offense is scary. They're probably one of the best offensive teams we've been up against and they're scrappy on defense, too. They're a good team," said Libby coach Cindy Ostrem-Johnston.

Libby opened the match a little flat, the coach said.

"But the girls did a good job of keeping their composure at the end of games. They did a better job of not letting mistakes get to them."

The Loggers play host to Bigfork on Thursday.

Mariah Newell and Taylor Holder each added six kills and Carly Hammond and Auna Lawler had nine and eight digs, respectively.

"It was a great night of volleyball. This was just

a huge win," said Eureka coach Rhonda Hammond.

"They're a much better team than their record shows. This was good volleyball," Hammond said of the Bluehawks (2-3, 4-5).

The Lions (6-0, 8-1) got off to a great start on the match.

"If we could play Game 1 all the time, no one would touch us. It was unbelievable," Hammond said.

Thompson Falls built a huge lead in the second set - it even had set point. But Eureka's Tayler Holder got on a roll and served out the game.

"It was crazy. Great comeback," the coach said.
