Harold Wendell Hale, 86

Harold Wendell Hale died Sept. 30, 2008, at Colonial Manor in Whitefish. He was born in Whitefish on Dec. 13, 1921, to Sidney Benjamin Hale and Christina Kirk Hale.

He graduated from Whitefish High School; he enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served in the Philippine Islands.

Harold worked as a heavy-duty equipment operator in various areas in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska for many years.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was a member of Whitefish VFW, Eagles, and Moose Lodge.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arnold Hale.

He is survived by his brother, Doug, of Columbia Falls; nephew, Martin Hale and wife, Eleanor; and nieces, Sydnie Watson and husband, Paul, Sandra Unger and husband, Tom, and Carol Hale, all of Whitefish.

Cremation has taken place.
