Michael Lee Currie, 27, of Helena, passed away Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at his home. He was born Dec. 5, 1980, in St. Ignatius, to Ronald Lee Currie and Kathleen Kay Weingart

Mike was so full of life and love. He loved the outdoors. He was a mountain man at heart and a Jack-of-all-trades.

He loved his daughter Alexi and thought the world of her.

Mike was a great person. He was very generous and a free spirit who lived life spontaneously and believed you should love everyone for whom they are.

When things got hard he would always say, "Just another bump in the road." He would give you the last dollar in his pocket and the shirt off his back.

He was one heck of a good cook and the life of the party with his animated stories and silly voices. Those who knew him say he had the heart and strength of a grizzly.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Roy Lee Currie; and uncle, Dale James Lloyd.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Alexi Currie, of Ogden, Utah; and significant other, Anita Myhre, and her three children, Rosemary, Mercedez and Aston, of Helena; his mother, Kathy Weingart, and Terry, of Helena; father, Ron Currie, and Lisa, of Trout Creek; his sister, Jennifer Fritz, and Blayne, of Helena, and their children, Kayla, Gavin, Eric, William and Stephen; sister, Jessica Baker, and Jeff, of Kalispell, and their children, Colt, Desiree and Alyssa; his brother, Joseph Currie, and Kaylene, and son, Skyler, of Salt Lake City; his brothers, Alex and Aiden Currie, of Trout Creek; grandparents, Zon and Martha Lloyd of Ronan, and Julia Landry of Polson; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.

Viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, and a funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, at the Helena Funeral Chapel, at 314 N. Rodney in Helena. Burial will take place in Polson at the Lake View Cemetery at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.
