Barbara was born May 9, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, to Robert and Joy (Griffin) Thayer. Her father was in the military, so she lived in numerous places while she was growing up.

Barb will always be remembered as being a real person, who always let you know where you stood with her.

She enjoyed all types of beach activities, gardening, fishing and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Barb especially loved the holidays; being able to spend them with her family was very special to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Joy Thayer; and one brother, Rowdy Thayer.

Barb is survived by her husband, Steve; a son, Robert, and his wife, Keshia Heathcock; daughter, Holly, and husband, Ken Griffin; grandchildren, Ashley Richter, and Shaye and Luke Heathcock; and siblings, Mitch and Angela Thayer, and Penny and husband, Dave Schwegel.
