A woman called Flathead County Sheriff's deputies to complain about her 77-year-old father's 53-year-old allegedly gold-digging girlfriend. Before his death, the elderly man gave his younger girlfriend power of attorney and she convinced him to buy several big-ticket items, such as a ranch, the daughter reported.

While responding to reports of a suspicious motorcycle at a resort on Montana 40, deputies chased some trespassers out of the hot tub.

Kalispell

A man packing his things to leave a Ninth Street West residence after a fight with his girlfriend was chased out of the house and around the block. He called Kalispell police.

Two people hanging out on the shoulder of U.S. 93 North with a smiley-face sign were causing a traffic hazard.

A man suspected of breaking into a car in the parking lot of a home improvement store on U.S. 93 North was just a friend picking up some keys. A passerby thought he had been rifling through vehicles.

All four tires on a car parked off Third Avenue West were flattened.

Security guards asked a driver trying to park his car in the lot of a Center Street mall in the wee hours of the morning to leave. Police were called when he returned.

Columbia Falls

Columbia Falls police are investigating reports that a home on Columbia Drive was broken into.

A dog was running loose and tearing up lawn decorations on Red Bridge Road.

Officers received 25 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Sunday and 3:30 p.m. Monday.

Alarms

The Smith Valley Fire Department responded to what was reported as a grass fire near Dern Road. The person watching it, a nearby homeowner, agreed to put it out.

The West Valley Fire Department responded to a grass fire on Reservoir Road.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Seventh Avenue East and 11th Street. One injured occupant was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Coram Fire Department responded to a fire at the community's green box site. Smoke was spotted coming out of a Dumpster.

The Somers Fire Department responded to reports of downed power lines on Montana 82 and Hard Rock Road.
