Braves move up in AA poll

Flathead is enjoying its highest ranking of the 2008 campaign heading into the final weekend of the regular season.
The Braves are up to the No. 4 position in this week's Associated Press Class AA football rankings.
Flathead has won six straight games after starting 0-3. The Braves were ranked No. 5 last week.
Flathead (6-3) plays at undefeated and top-ranked Helena Capital (9-0) on Friday, 7 p.m.
Flathead and fifth-ranked Helena High (6-3) are currently tied for fourth place in the AA standings. The Bengals end their regular season Friday at Bozeman (3-6), where a victory would assure them of the No. 4 seed and a home game versus the No. 5 seed in quarterfinal playoff action on Nov. 7.
The Braves have also earned a playoff spot. Flathead would receive the No. 4 seed with a victory over Capital and with Bozeman beating Helena High. If Flathead and Helena High are tied, the Bengals own the tiebreaker because of their 40-22 win over Flathead.
Also in the running for a fourth or fifth playoff seed is Missoula Big Sky.
The top eight teams advance in postseason play.
Eureka also enjoyed a rise in the Class B rankings this week, moving from No. 8 last week all the way up to No. 5. The Lions are 6-1 on the season and open playoff action at home on Saturday with Florence (5-2).
