Someone knocked on an Orchard Ridge Road woman's door, but she didn't answer. With recent burglaries in mind, the woman decided to call Flathead County Sheriff's deputies to report the incident. Turns out the suspicious knocker was a neighbor looking for a dog.

Deputies were called to break up a fight on Fourth Avenue South in Hungry Horse.

An intoxicated woman was banging on the door of her cell and yelling profanities at the Flathead County Detention Center. Officers opened her cell to take away her sock when she tried to wrap it around her neck, so she clung to the doorjamb and wouldn't let go - until she was Tased.

Cash was stolen from a business on Mill Street in Bigfork. The culprit broke through a bathroom window.

Deputies cited a 20-year-old man for shoplifting after he stole a six-pack of beer from a Hungry Horse grocery store.

A renter allegedly broke out the windows to a Winterloop Lane residence.

A person hiking near Lang Creek on the Lincoln County border was reported as overdue.

Deputies responded to a Willow Glen Drive residence after receiving reports that a man and woman were involved in a domestic disturbance.

Someone left a Mexican restaurant on Montana 35 in Evergreen without paying the bill.

Buildings on Hartt Hill Drive and Westbrier Court were broken into. Deputies are investigating.

Deputies received 143 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Kalispell police

A Fourth Avenue East man with a fever and a headache kept calling 911 late Monday night but refusing an ambulance. Kalispell police told him to quit and see a doctor in the morning.

A van at Flathead High School was keyed.

Someone stole a laptop computer from a Seventh Street West residence.

Officers told a panhandler kicked out of a Third Avenue East North grocery store to move along or get arrested for trespassing.

Officers visited a Fifth Street East residence and arrested a 19-year-old on a warrant for felony criminal mischief.

Officers also arrested a 29-year-old woman on a warrant for identity theft after responding to a home on Eighth Avenue East.

A Second Avenue West man received some unwanted calls from his ex-wife.

Two men screaming at each other outside a bar on First Street West were gone when officers arrived.

Vehicles were rifled through on Fifth Avenue East. Two guns were stolen from a vehicle on Eighth Avenue East.

Officers received 76 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police arrested a 47-year-old woman for vandalism after responding to reports of a disturbance at a Baker Avenue bar.

Officers received 39 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police received 19 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, including a report of a bear near the city pool.

Alarms

The Evergreen Fire Department responded to a chimney fire on South Cedar Drive.

The Kalispell Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a fire in the backyard of a residence on South Woodland Drive.

The Kalispell and West Valley fire departments responded to a crash on West Reserve Drive, but no one was seriously injured. A 43-year-old woman, however, was arrested for DUI.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a possible gas leak on Second Street East after a person in the building reportedly smelled natural gas.

The Bigfork Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Montana 35 near the intersection with Ramsfield Road.

The ALERT helicopter and Badrock and Martin City fire departments responded to a one-vehicle crash near Desert Mountain. Two people were taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Property on U.S. 2 near mile marker 100 was vandalized.
