Sam Lundy Jr., 57

Sam Lundy Jr., passed away on Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 19, 1951, in New Orleans, to Sam Lundy Sr., of New Orleans, and Mary Lundy of Kenner, La.

Sam attended Chapman University in Orange, Calif., and was a faithful member of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving two tours in Vietnam.

He was a devoted member of Saint Matthew's Church and sang in the church choir.

Sam enjoyed camping in Glacier Park, horseback riding, jogging, bike riding and kayaking. He loved eating at nice restaurants, dancing at the Bigfork Inn, and scrambled egg sandwiches.

He was an exceptional man and compassionate human being, and his spirit will live forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

Sam is survived by his son, Brian, and grandson, Brylynn, of San Jose, Calif.; his father, Sam Lundy Sr., of New Orleans; and his mother, Mary Lundy, of Kenner, La.; his brothers and sisters, Earl, Curtis, Milton, Michael, Gilbert, Shelia and Tiffany; with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his best friend and true love, Carol Brannan, of Kalispell, who will miss him dearly. His love will remain in her life forever.

A memorial Mass will be said in honor of Sam at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, St. Matthew's Church.

All who knew Sam are invited to a celebration of life luncheon at Carol's house from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1. Turn at Glacier Toyota on U.S. 93 onto Lower Valley Road; turn right onto Ekalaka Lane (108).
