Robert M. 'Bob' Steinke, 59

Robert M. "Bob" Steinke, 59, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at his residence in Kalispell. He was born Feb. 10, 1949, in Wendell, Idaho, the son of George and Helen (Burk) Steinke.

He thrived with any challenge that came along. He really loved riding his Harley and walking his dogs.

Bob worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for many years, but his true calling was with the kids of School District 5, where he drove a school bus for 25 years.

He was united in marriage May 26, 2008, to Jo in Kalispell.

He was a member of the Harley Davidson-Glacier chapter.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, George Steinke; and wife, Rita Steinke.

He is survived by his wife, Jo Steinke, of Kalispell; his mother, Helen Steinke, of Kalispell; his daughter, Amy Steinke, of Missoula; his sister, Boni Steinke, of Portland; two stepchildren, Angie Overnick and Wendy Copeland, both of Kalispell; and numerous other extended family.

Funeral services for Bob will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral chapel, with Pastor Raymond Powell officiating. The family requests that those attending please wear pink or pink ribbons in honor of cancer survivors. There will be no visitation. Burial will be after services at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests that any memorial contributions be sent to Lucky Dog Day Care, 2455 U.S. 93 S., Kalispell, MT 59901; or to the Northwest Healthcare Foundation, 310 Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell, MT 59901.
