Steven B. Lautenbach, 37, of East Glacier Park, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at his mother's home in Port Orange, Fla.

A memorial service in his honor will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Daytona, Fla., Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home.

Steven was a U.S. Navy veteran and dedicated outdoorsman who loved wild animals, fishing, skiing, "campin' and lovin' God's Love."

He came to love the pristine beauty of Glacier National Park and its quality of life, dedicating himself to the park with his work in cinematography and photography, and as the innkeeper at Many Glacier Hotel.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his parents, Angelina and Richard Ruggiero; a sister, Cathy Lautenbach; six brothers and sisters of the Ruggiero family, Jason Ruggiero, Jeff Ruggiero, Lana Wood, Jodi Lysiak, Maine Ruggiero and Kim Waldbilling; two aunts, Georgette and Will Tenrreiro, and his godmother, Paula (Spencer) Steinberg, and his loving family from the Many Glacier Hotel.

Donations in his honor may be made to the Hospice of Volusia Flagler; or to the Glacier National Park Fund, 540 Wisconsin Ave., Whitefish, MT 59937.
