A 4-year-old boy was seriously injured after falling off a woodpile at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. The incident, which is under investigation by the Flathead County Sheriff's Office, occurred at the boy's Truman Creek Road home. Adults reportedly were nearby.

The boy was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center via ambulance and then flown to a Seattle hospital. Further details were not available Tuesday.

A small, 10-pound mutt made a break for freedom Monday from the Flathead County animal shelter. The dog was spotted running across the highway in the Four Corners area. Animal wardens tried, unsuccessfully, to trap the escapee.

Deputies responded to Flathead Drive, where someone broke into and ransacked a camper.

Some kids were spotted messing around on the roof of a Lakeside school. Deputies corralled one of the alleged miscreants and took him home, where he was counseled about trespassing.

Deputies separated a man and woman, reportedly going through a divorce, arguing on Pines Boulevard. No arrests were made.

Deputies responded to a restaurant on U.S. 2 in Evergreen and broke up a fight.

A tractor-trailer tipped over on Shady Lane, near the Old Steel Bridge access.

A Montana 40 resident called deputies to complain about a new neighbor, who was using the driveway and yard to turn around while their house was being built.

Emergency personnel responded to Glacier Park International Airport after an incoming plane reported problems with its landing gear. The aircraft landed safely.

Someone punctured the gas tank of a vehicle at a rental car company on U.S. 2 in Evergreen and made off with the fuel. Some of the gas spilled onto the ground, and firefighters were called to clean it up.

Neighbors on Blacktail Road each accused the other of assault after they got into a fight about the easement.

Deputies separated men arguing with women on Central Avenue in Martin City and on South Woodland Drive.

Kalispell police

A Liberty Street woman told Kalispell police her ring was stolen, given to another woman, but eventually returned. She wanted to speak with an officer anyway.

A man dressed all in black was skateboarding in the middle of U.S. 93 North, causing a traffic hazard.

A man got a letter saying a Sixth Avenue East home was deserted, which concerned him because his son was supposed to be living there. The man called police because a restraining order prevented him from contacting his son directly.

A man came into the station to tell police he was being followed by somebody on a white bike.

Students at Flathead High School are accused of taking lawn chairs from a nearby yard and arranging them in a circle for a chat and smoke.

Officers were unable to find the person who reportedly shined a flashlight in the window of a Ponderosa Street residence.

Someone drilled a hole in the gas tank of a vehicle parked at a U.S. 93 South hotel and stole nine gallons of fuel.

Officers arrested a 40-year-old man for reckless driving and disorderly conduct after he allegedly cut people off, slammed on his breaks in an attempt to cause a crash and flipped people the bird.

Officers arrested a 60-year-old man for having an open container of alcohol at an East Idaho Street bank.

Two men were seen going through cars on Second Avenue East North.

An Eighth Avenue West resident reported a car missing. Apparently the person to whom the vehicle was loaned failed to return it on time.

Officers received 62 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Monday and 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Whitefish police

A woman told Whitefish police money was taken from her purse, which she had left in a car parked on Creekview Drive.

A boat came off its trailer at the intersection of Armory Road and Second Street East. No one was injured, but the road was blocked for a while.

Officers received 53 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police cited a high school student for possession of tobacco.

Officers received 24 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Alarms

The Evergreen and Creston fire departments responded to Foothill Road after a woman allegedly drove her car into a utility pole while driving drunk. She was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Three Rivers EMS responded to Nucleus Avenue in Columbia Falls, where a man put a rod through his hand. He was taken to North Valley Hospital.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a burning stump near a Frisbee golf course on Lakeshore Drive.

The West Valley Fire Department extinguished an electrical fire at a Birch Grove Road residence.

Bigfork Ambulance responded to Coyote Meadow Trail after a 5-year-old boy passed out. He did not require treatment at the hospital.

The Creston Fire Department responded to a Lindsey Lane home after a resident reported smelling an electric, burning odor.

The ALERT helicopter, Three Rivers EMS and Canyon Quick Response Unit responded to Spotted Bear Road, where a woman in her 20s suffered a possible drug overdose. She was taken to North Valley Hospital.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to Ashley Court after a 9-year-old boy reportedly tried to set the house on fire. The flames were extinguished, but the home suffered smoke damage. The boy was counseled.
