Mona Mae (Miller) McShane, 95

Mona Mae (Miller) McShane, 95, of Kalispell, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2008, at the Immanuel Lutheran Home in Kalispell. She was born May 11, 1913, the daughter of Harry Francis and Leonine (Williams) Miller of Livingston.

She attended and graduated from Beaverhead County High School in Dillon in May 1932.

She was married to Thomas David McShane on Aug. 15, 1950, in Helena.

She worked as a clerk at mercantiles, drug stores and JC Penney. She was a bookkeeper for many years, and was also a dental assistant.

Mona was a volunteer for many years in the office at the Community Hospital in Missoula.

She enjoyed writing letters, reading, gardening, baking, traveling, visiting and homemaking.

Mona was the matriarch of a large, often scattered family, from her teenage years to the time of her death. She was very proud to be the oldest of a five-generation Montana family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas David McShane, in 1987; three brothers, James, Charles and Leo Miller; and a sister-in-law, Hortensia Miller.

She is survived by her son, Douglas McLean and his wife, Karen, of Columbia Falls; a daughter, Roberta Dilley, and her husband, Robert, of Spicewood, Texas; two sisters, Jean Sherlock and husband, Clarence, of Helena, and Nan Klehm and husband, Dave, of Kalispell; a sister-in-law, Ruth Miller, of Kennewick, Wash.; grandchildren, Tim McLean and Tammy David, both of Kalispell, Tom McLean of Columbia Falls, Beverly Boldy of Pittsburgh, and Douglas Johnson of Rock Hill, S.C.; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.

There are no services planned at this time for Mona.
