Flathead County sheriff

Flathead County Sheriff's deputies arrested two suspected shoplifters at two box stores on U.S. 2 in Evergreen. A 22-year-old man allegedly tried to steal a "vampire vixen" Halloween costume for his girlfriend and, at the other store, an 18-year-old girl allegedly tried to steal pink body spray.

An antique keg was stolen from behind a Nicholson Drive home.

Two fall-down-drunk transients on West Evergreen Drive were warned to stay away from the road. They were still in the area about three hours later, when deputies responded to a second complaint about the pair. This time, they said, they were on their way to a soup kitchen.

A Zimmerman Road resident complained to deputies about his neighbor's loud truck, which is left running without a muffler or tailpipe.

The driver of a truck from a recycling center, apparently on rounds, allegedly asked a Goat Trail woman's son to get in. He didn't.

A 5-year-old boy who wandered off from Main Street in Hungry Horse was found a couple of blocks away.

A vehicle part was stolen from the yard of a residence on U.S. 93, but the alleged victim decided not to press charges.

A Jensen Road resident called deputies about a suspicious vehicle parked in the driveway. The driver, believed to be asleep, was given a ride home.

An inmate of the juvenile detention center is accused of peeling paint off the walls of a cell.

Deputies received complaints about an ungovernable youth on Ridgewood Drive after a girl allegedly ran from her mother. Kalispell police arrested her on suspicion of probation violation.

Animal wardens rescued a dog that fell in a pit off Flathead Drive.

Kalispell police

A teacher received a call from a crying child, but was unable to understand what the child was saying. The teacher notified Kalispell police, who responded to the First Avenue West North residence where the call originated. Turns out siblings were fighting over a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

A Third Avenue East North woman told officers her cat was poisoned, possibly by a neighbor.

A woman at Woodland Park called police after a group of youths approached her aggressively, laughed, and then walked away.

Officers responded to Ashley Drive, where a woman allegedly was subjected to ongoing harassment from her ex-husband and his new wife.

Officers arrested a 41-year-old man on suspicion of theft after he ordered several rounds of drinks at a West Idaho Street casino and then left without paying.

An unidentified person jumped out and threatened to beat up a man parking on Second Avenue West if he didn't move his car.

Officers ticketed a minor on suspicion of trying to buy cigarettes from a convenience store on U.S. 93 South.

A child on South Woodland Drive got pepper spray in the eyes. The family was instructed to call poison control.

Officers received 106 calls for service between 2:30 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Whitefish police

Whitefish police officers arrested a 29-year-old man on a warrant for partner or family member assault after visiting his Iowa Avenue residence.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested on warrants for stalking and trespass after she was discovered slumped over the steering wheel of her car at a Wisconsin Avenue market.

Officers received 57 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 26-year-old man on a Montana Highway Patrol warrant while investigating a suspicious circumstances complaint on Glacier Drive.

Officers received 21 calls for service between 3:30 p.m. Thursday and 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Alarms

The ALERT helicopter and Blankenship Fire Department responded to a rollover crash near mile marker 9 on the North Fork Road. The driver, who required extrication, was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center. Witnesses told investigators that the crash may have been the result of a race or chase.

The Evergreen Fire Department and Kalispell Fire Department responded to Trumble Creek Road, where a vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree at about 40 mph. The driver was taken to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

The Kalispell Fire Department responded to the intersection of First Avenue West and 10th Street, where a motorcycle and car collided.

The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a crash on U.S. 93, but no one involved suffered major injuries.
