Flathead sheriff

A bear was spotted in a tree next to the Teakettle fishing access Sunday afternoon, the Flathead County Sheriff's Office reported.

Police arrested a person Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a southern Whitefish bar on suspicion of having a suspended license.

Columbia Falls police

Columbia Falls police arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of drunken driving early Sunday morning.

Police logged 29 calls from 3:30 p.m. Saturday to 3:30 p.m. Sunday.

Alarms

People inside and outside a Tamarack Woods Drive house coughed and gagged from suspected pepper spray or some other chemical Sunday morning. The Somers Fire Department and the Lakeside Quick Response Unit arrived. No one was hospitalized.

A woman inmate at the Flathead County jail fell off her bunk and hit her head. The Kalispell Fire Department took her to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Late on Saturday evening, the Fire Department's ladder truck responded to a Kalispell police call to go to a downtown building so officers could check the roof for two or three people reportedly throwing rocks at passers-by. No one was found on the roof.
