The altercation, which reportedly began because the man was calling his aunt names and being generally unkind, escalated until he allegedly threatened the couple with a knife. The man's aunt agreed not to press charges if he collected his belongings and left. However, he returned to the residence about an hour later and another disturbance ensued. This time, the man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a weapon, trespass, and disorderly conduct.

When the landlord went out to turn off the utilities, he found three people living there - none of whom was the original renter. The subletters, however, apparently still are paying rent to the other occupants. Flathead County sheriff's deputies are investigating.
