Once upon a time the lived a pretty lady named Rosemary Elizabeth Montayne. She passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at her residence in Kalispell. She was born on Nov. 19, 1934, in Chester, the daughter of Paul and Matilda (Beste) Biegalke. She graduated from Chester High School in 1952.

"Muther" met and married John David Montayne in Miles City.

They have four unbelievably adorable children, Samuel Paul Montayne Sr., now of Kalispell, Daniel Thomas Montayne of El Monte, Calif., Ramona Elizabeth Montayne of Pasadena, Calif., and Rachel Montayne of Big Bear City, Calif.; two wonderful grandchildren, Samuel Paul Montayne Jr., and Aubrey Lynn Montayne, and one on the way, Baby Bear Montayne. She is also survived by three sisters, Bernice Skierka of Chester, Delores Hortsch of Portland, and Madonna Lovelace of Philadelphia.

"La familia" spent 13 years in beautiful Sheridan, Wyo., then moved to Billings, for 10 years or so … Mom spent time in Tucson, Ariz., and Rowland Heights, Calif. She moved back to Montana to be closer to her son and his family.

Mom enjoyed playing cards, (and winning) with her children and grandchildren, shopping with her friends and daughters, painting, reading books, crossword puzzles (puzzles of any kind really), and talking to friends and family.

One of her most favorite things to do was to have cheese and pickle sandwiches and ice cream with her grandchildren. Mom was always there for her children.

Memorial services for Rosemary will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 23, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Chapel.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for Rosemary's family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to offer condolences and sign Rosemary's guest book.
