Stanley John Connors, 89

Stanley John Connors, 89, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2010, in Kalispell. Stanley was born May 23, 1920, near Winona, Wash., the son of Jack and Mexie (Walls) Connors. Stanley was raised in Washington and graduated high school with honors. In 1942, he enlisted in the United States Navy, and worked as a radioman 1st class. He married Doris Long on Sept. 28, 1942. After his honorable discharge, he moved the family to Kalispell. Stanley worked on the Hungry Horse Dam project and then later worked at the Columbia Falls Aluminum Plant as a sheet metal worker. He finally retired after 50 years of employment. After retiring, he dedicated himself to supporting veterans of the United States military. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; a sister; a daughter, Marianne; and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Doris, of Kalispell; sons, Keith and Donald, of Kalispell, and Kenneth, of New Jersey; daughters, Floris of Great Falls, Doris Marie of Oklahoma; daughters-in-law, Dorothy, Becky and Karen; son-in-law, James; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation for Stanley will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 2, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 3, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions in Stanley s name may be made to the Northwest Veterans Food Pantry, 1527 Hwy. 35 E., Kalispell, MT 59901; or to the charity of your choice.
